Sunset June 28th ... the sun is setting well to the north of here.

Grapevine...

...If I have the story right...this grapevine was planted some forty years ago...the tree that now shades the grapevine from the sun was only a few feet high. Now this tree stands perhaps a hundred feet tall all but drowning out the light to the vine. Last year there were a half dozen bunches of grapes that the birds enjoyed...this year nothing. Interesting. Will next year have a grape crop...or is the vine finished?

Time Marches On..............

Three BIG trees went down in a freak wind storm that only a few places were affected by. One big tree fell right over. That one was along the bank of the pond and it's roots must have been weakened by the digging of the pond. The two you see here have an obvious excuse for leaving. On the outside of the tree they look strong, big old elephant like trunks and branches. Inside, these trunks are as hollow as a pipe.

Now more light pours onto the ground. Time will show us what seeds waited below their shadows.
